A deposit of $200pp is required on booking, full balance due 60 days prior to starting date.
Important Note: when making your booking, please select the first night of your trip only, the consecutive evenings will self - populate.

Driving
Getting to Nukuhakari Station
Arrival time is between 3 - 6pm. To minimize traffic and enhance safety we strongly recommend carpooling. Additionally be prepared for limited mobile coverage on the road once you reach Mangatoa road or if coming from the other direction you will lose coverage outside of Waitomo.
Please have downloaded the directions before you do. Our country roads are narrow and windy and can have big trucks on them. Please ensure you stick to your side of the road, drive carefully and slowly and remain alert for oncoming vehicles.
You can get to Nuku Walk via 2 routes. The first is driving toward Awakino, turning onto Manganui road. Continue for around 30 min until there is a turn off to your left to Waikawau road.
Alternatively you can come from the opposite direction toward Marokopa (note: this route has a portion of metal road), turn up the hill to your left onto Mangatoa road. Continue around 30 min until the road to your right is Waikawau road. Cross the small bridge and the Red Cottage, night 1 of Nuku Walk at 4 Waikawau road is directly on your right. Next door to Whareorino School!
Flying
Getting Here by Air
The nearest airport to Nuku Walk is New Plymouth, around 1.5 hours from the Red Cottage, your first nights accommodation on Nuku Walk. Alternatively Hamilton Airport is 2hr 20. We don't offer airport transfers, so you will need to hire a car and drive to commence your stay. We offer accommodation and meals so you can rest before commencing your walk the following morning. This will give you ample time to travel and ensure you are rested and ready for the journey ahead.
Cancellations/T&Cs

Cancellation Policy for Nukuhakari Station Walk
60+ days’ notice – Full refund, minus an $80 administration fee (per booking).
60 - 30 days’ notice – Deposit of $200 is non-refundable.
0 – 30 days’ notice – No refund will be given.

We understand plans can change, so we allow name changes on bookings right up until the arrival date. If you’re unable to attend, feel free to have a friend take your place.

Our walks are designed for groups of 4 to 10 people. If there are fewer than 4 people booked on your chosen date, Nukuhakari Station Walk reserves the right to cancel the walk. We will contact you two weeks in advance to discuss alternative options if needed.

Nukuhakari Station Walk reserves the right to cancel the walk due to weather, safety concerns, or insufficient group numbers. In such cases, you will receive a full refund.

A deposit of $200pp must be made within 7 days of the booking and the remaining amount must be paid 60 days prior to the arrival date.
For group bookings, we suggest that the group leader collects deposits and manages the final payment to streamline the process. However, we also accept individual payments if that’s more convenient for your group members.
